Yrsa Sigurðardóttir was awarded the Blood drop (Blóðdropinn) literary award for her crime novel DNA. The novel is also Iceland’s entry for the 2015 Glass Key literary award which is handed out annually to a crime novel by a Nordic author, put forward by each country’s members.

According to the Icelandic committee, Yrsa continually manages to create suspense and excitement in her novels, and captures and maintains the readers’ attention throughout.
