CNN Travel appears to have relied on outdated information when it republished a four year old article on the coolest bars in Reykjavík yesterday. Of the eleven bars featured, two no longer exist and a third one has changed addresses.

The article, which was written in 2013 but was reformatted and republished yesterday according to the National Broadcasting Service RÚV, is witty in parts but eager pub crawlers will be disappointed if they try to go to two of the bars in question.

Closed down and moved
RÚV helpfully points out the Le Chateu des Dix Gouttes on Laugavegur, which CNN describes as "cafe by day, French lounge bar by night", closed its doors last year after having been in business for many years. It's been replaced by a Vietnamese restaurant.

Similarly, the bar Harlem in Tryggvagata, which CNN took as a "(street) arty place", has been closed for several years. Popular night club Húrra has taken its place since.

Lastly, Micro bar, which specializes in craft beers, has changed addresses from the time CNN's feature was first published. It's now located in the basement of Vesturgata 2.
