Icelandic sheep farmers will gather at KEX Hostel tomorrow (Saturday, October 25) to compete in what’s known as “hrúta þukl” in Icelandic.

Competitors will examine a ram’s physique after summer grazing and are to focus on factors such as the width of the back and thighs.

This is the first time farmers compete in “hrúta þukl”, which directly translates to “ram frisking”, in Reykjavík.

The competition begins at 16.15 pm at KEX Hostel, Skúlagata 28. During the event the KEX chefs will serve traditional Icelandic meat soup.
