If bird watching is your thing you should stop by at Húsabakki Nature Center and Birdland Exhibition (Náttúrusetrið á Húsabakka) in north Iceland. It lies on the edge of Iceland’s oldest nature reserve and is a bird lover’s paradise.

It is not a stuffed birds in cupboards museum. Visitors can for example pick up many of the objects on display. The area is renowned in Iceland for its rich birdlife, featured in the exhibition, and its beautiful mountain surroundings.

It is very children-friendly and offers a mixture of folklore and a scientific approach.

Located in Svarfaðardalur valley close to Dalvík town in north Iceland, tel. +354 466 1551
