Reykjavík City Council has proposed a plan which aims to attract more visitors to the country’s capital and enhance their overall experience, reports the National Broadcasting Service

The city wishes to further bus-travel restrictions within the old city centre to reduce friction between residents and tour operators and hopes to work closely with musician Björk Guðmundsdóttir to create a retrospective exhibition of her work. Another suggestion is to create an interactive exhibition about Iceland’s flora and natural recourses.

The proposed plan is also an effort to spread tourism to other parts of the year, most notably the low winter season, by offering exiting activities such as ice skating on the Pond, setting up a special northern light’s viewing point, and creating a Christmas World in Laugardalur valley.
