Unsure of how to spend your weekend or want some fresh suggestions? Check out this list of activities:

For the daytime:

-Bogfimisetrið, Reykjavik´s very own archery center, is open all day from 10 AM to 10 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Appointments are available but not necessary. All ages welcome, but children 14 years and younger need to be accompanied by an adult.

-Reykjavik Art Museum, housed in three district buildings in central Reykjavik: Hafnarhús, Kjarvalsstaðir, and Ásmundarsafn. Admission is 1.500 ISK for adults, 829 ISK for students, and free for anyone under 18 years old. Click  here for information on all opening times for each district building.

-Take a relaxing dip in one of Reykjavik's many swimming pools. Click here for a list and map of all the best pools in Reykjavik.

-Visit Hallgrimskirkja church. From the top you can see a spectacular panoramic view of the entire city.

-Take a shopping trip around downtown Reykjavik´s main streets: Laugavegur, Austurstraeti, Laekjargata and Skolavordustigur.

If you are looking to spend a little less money and also score some one-of-a-kind items, take a visit to Kolaportid, the Reykjavik flea market. The flea market is located by the harbour, and there you will find a selection of traditional Icelandic foods to try.

If you are looking for something less crowded and more outdoorsy, take some friends and some picnic food over to Elliðaárdalur, a little natural gem in the heart of the city. This spot has lovely walking paths, a waterfall you can climb up, and a river rushing through. Pro tip: there are little to no trash cans in the area so if you are planning to pack a lunch- make sure to bring a plastic bag to store your trash!

The weather for this weekend is looking good if you want some outdoor times. Temperatures are ranging from 4 to 6 degrees celsius, with partially sunny skies. Click here for more information on the weather.

For the nighttime:

Reykjavik is known for it's vast and lively nightlife scene. Each bar holds it's own personality and crowd, so hopping around is quite entertaining and quite customary.

Here´s a list of some of the local favorites:

-Kaffibarinn

-Bar 11

-Dillon

-Paloma

Consider yourself a ammateur beer expert/fan of taste sampling? Stop by Skuli or Micro to try out some tasty Icelandic craft beers.
