A lad from Akureyri town is the leading character in a brand new World Cup advertisement from Pepsi. The ad follows Þorsteinn Sindri Baldvinsson, a 21 year old Icelander, walk through the streets of Rio de Janeiro, where he runs into Lionel Messi, Robin van Persie, Jack Wilshere, Sergio Aguero, Sergio Ramos and David Luiz, who are among the world's best and most famous football players.
Þorsteinn rose to fame through Youtube for his real life looping cover of the Ryan Lewis and Macklemore song "Can't Hold Us" (see below). The video has been viewed almost one million times on Youtube and earned Þorsteinn, who performs under the alias Stony, a contract with the channel.
The theme for the Pepsi advert is a similar looping version af David Bowie's song Heros and is a part of the soda manufacturer's 2014 Football #FutballNow campaign.
