Every day the National Geographic’s Your Shot editors receive thousands of uploads of which only a dozen are picked out. A photo of a flock of sheep, huddled together on a small hill, by Icelandic photographer Einar Örn Sigurdórsson was picked as one of the twelve on January 13. Einar estimates that there are probably 200 sheep in the photograph, who are almost all looking straight into the camera.

The photograph of the photo-friendly sheep was then chosen by the readers of National Geographic as the Top Shot of the day: “I guess they were waiting to get into a warm house after a stroll in the snow.”
