Italy, Iceland, Switzerland, Singapore and Australia occupy the top five most-healthy countries in the index. Iceland has a health Index score of 91.21. The UK comes in 23rd place and the US 34th place.

Italy‘s place at the top is explained by a healthy diet rich in vegetables, a high number of doctors, low levels of obesity and the good physical shape the average Italian is in. Life expectancy in Italy is 84.6, while Icelanders can expect to live to 83.7 years old.
