Iceland listed as one of the top ten countries to grow old, according to new GlobalAge index

Iceland is listed as one of the top ten countries to grow old in, according to the HelpAge International’s Global AgeWatch Index that was released yesterday. The index “ranks countries by how well their older population is faring” by measuring four areas: Income security, health, personal capability and environment.

Of 96 countries, Norway is considered the best place to grow old, with Sweden taking second place. Switzerland, Canada and Germany follow in close pursue, while Iceland takes seventh place.
Afghanistan and Mozambique sit in the bottom two.
