Iceland is internationally reowned for its amazing backdrops and beautiful scenery. And now, American newlyweds are beginning to take notice. Yanks are well known for their lavish weddings and significant investments in the "marriage process." Therefore it comes as no surprise that the significant travel and monetary demands necessary to visit Iceland do little to stop the flurry of American couples from taking the trip over to Reykjavik for the "big moment."

Just ask Ann and Chris Peters, a couple of American photographers who started the website Icelandweddingplanner.com.

"Every week we get at least five inquiries from couples who want to enter and get married," says Ann who explains the company's objective as a website is to, "...lay emphasis on the wedding in Iceland with an American twist." The strategy seems to be paying off. "Iceland is the only place in the world where you can see glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls, black sand, caves and a turf farm in one day," exclaims Ann.
