“We sell products from Icelandic farmers and food producers, small and large, but mostly smaller producers. We focus on fair trade and seek to facilitate small local producers,” says Fjóla Halldórsdóttir, who manages the speciality store Verzlunin RAM, located on Reykjavík’s main thoroughfare, Laugavegur 72.

The store’s wares, primarily food products and kitchen items, are all made in Iceland and aimed at gourmands who wish to bring home a little taste of Iceland. Fjóla says foreign visitors are particularly impressed by the shop’s wide selection of Icelandic condiments, candy, and recipe books and the friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Verzlunin RAM will vacuum pack products for foreign customers to ensure it maintains its freshness despite the long trip home.
