Hike up a glacier
“Visit Snæfellsjökull glacier either by foot or with a pisten bully. One can also hike around the root of the glacier and visit Sönghellir (The Singing Cave) on your way.”

Town festival in Snæfellsnes peninsula
The Sandara- og Rifsaragleðin is an annual town festival which takes place in the small neighbouring towns of Hellissandur and Rif, situated on the westernmost part of the Snæfelssnes peninsula. The festival began today (Thursday) and will continue throughout the weekend.
Children can try their luck at fishing on the Ólafsvík harbour (in Ólafsvík) tomorrow (Friday) at 5pm. A bonfire and sing-along takes place in Krossavík at 9pm that evening and pop singer Páll Óskar will take the stage at midnight in the community centre Röst. Saturday is market day with many organized activities for all ages.

Home to Búðardal valley
The town festival Heim í Búðardal takes place in Búðardalur this weekend
Tomorrow evening (Friday) local residents offer guests and passers by a bowl of traditional Icelandic  meat soup and the band B4 will perform in Leifsbúð community centre.
A box car rally takes place on Saturday – all age groups are welcome to participate; kids, parents and grandparents alike. Later competitors in the Vestfjarðarvíkingur Strong Man Competition will showcase their extreme strength during a truck-towing competition. Other events taking place that day are a car-boot sale, a vintage car show and a dance in Dalabúð community centre.
